Beautiful Notebooks
Field Notes, of course.
Put some on your advent calendar.
Usually I don’t like when bands cover other bands songs, unless it’s in live concerts. But, this is a HUGE exception. I love ‘Ahctoong Baybi Covered’. Bands like Nine Inch Nails, Patti Smith, Depeche Mode, Jack White, The Killers and others covered Achtung Baby, U2′s 1991 hit record.
All proceeds will benefit Concern Worldwide’s work in famine-stricken areas of East Africa.

This is how I will make my cookbook!
What I want for Christmas:

On the same day that swissmiss posted the remote control space man on her blog, the Holiday toy catalogue of our favorite local toy store showed up in our mailbox with, you guessed it, that space man in it.
Never once before, and not since every geek needed a digital watch back in highschool, have geeks been this excited about something as mundane as a thermostat. Yeah, a thermostat.
The iPod’s Inventor Strikes Out On His Own, And Invents…A Thermostat?!
I really wanted to make fun of the fact that every geek is going to post a link to this today. But then I watched the video, and now I want one too.
Inventions like these are the proof that America is not down and out quite yet. Inventions like these are.
I can’t decide between the hardcover or the ebook version of Walter Isaacson’s biography of Steve Jobs, an obvious must-read. But in what version?
My love for that silly little game Angry Birds started last year with the Halloween Edition of Angry Birds Seasons and Rovio just released their latest update Ham’O’Ween.
Must. Play. All. Night!
The book also provides insight into the unraveling of Jobs’ relationship with Eric Schmidt, the former CEO of Google and an Apple board member from 2006 to 2009.
“I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple’s $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong,” Jobs said. “I’m going to destroy Android, because it’s a stolen product. I’m willing to go thermonuclear war on this.”
From the upcoming Steve Jobs biography, written by Walter Isaacson.
Can’t wait to read it. I just can’t decide if I should read it on the iPad, and make it the first book to read on the iPad, essentially as a tribute to Steve. Or if I should get the hardcover book, because that’s how I want to own it for posterity.
Meet the Lytro.
