So yesterday, while the webby commentariat was pontificating about what it meant that a “visionary” entrepreneur has decided to “rescue” one of the crown jewels of American journalism, the inky edition of The New York Times was describing the man’s company as a ruthlessly competitive global juggernaut with highly questionable labor practices.

Bezos didn’t ‘save’ journalism by buying the Washington Post, he bought himself another weapon in his arsenal to undermine an industry and kill well-paid middle class jobs. Journalists beware, this is the iceberg “saving” the Titanic. Wherein the iceberg has an engine and drove itself right into the path of the ship.
