… but I’m not sure Apple knows how to sell the iPad.
Did Apple know how to sell the iPod when it had 80% marketshare? New colors were announced and everything was layered into a cool music event. The coolness of a product that at the core is a music player was easy to celebrate. Some cool commercials, fun colors, and a surprise guest/band to close things off. Simple stuff.
The iPad enjoys the same market dominance but is so much more varied in usage. It’s hard to sell that variety on a live stage. But by putting the iPad on the same stage as the Mac line perhaps Apple is paving the way to tell us that the iPad is the new personal computer for the everyday use and for everyone and every situation.
Like this commercial so beautifully highlights.
