The NYT is pushing the boundaries of browser-publishing with this beautifully written and haunting story about an avalanche and Stevens Pass earlier this year.

I call it browser-publishing because the article works beautifully in the browser, but I am not sure I want to read such a long article on my laptop but would rather have work well on my tablet devices.  On the iPhone some of the slick interactions are lost, sadly.

Could a story like that be pushed through Newsstand or iBooks and preserve some of the intended fluidity?
