The importance of saying goodnight.
Every night just before heading to bed myself, I take a quick look into my kids’ room and say goodnight to them. They are already long sleeping, but I watch them just for a couple moments, in the their bunk beds, perfectly exhausted from a long long day playing, learning, running around and being kids. They’re sleeping peacefully, and trust, that tomorrow everything will be okay.
This is by far one of the most favorite moments of my day.
Every night, standing there watching them sleep, breathing contently, I too can take a mental break. I choose to hold on to that moment and let go of everything else.
We need to take those moments. Capture them, fight for them and cherish them. The world is a rat race and I am okay with that. But when we’re racing past important moments like these we loose a bit of magic, we will never recover. Life is there for times like these. And especially when to day is full, it’s important to remember that those moments are what we live for.
In the end, everything will be alright, and if it’s not alright, it is not the end.
